I am Michael Persch, an architect, artist and photographer, living again in my German hometown Plauen, after having spent a long time overseas in Australia and Singapore.
By chance I discovered the ‘Urban Sketchers Singapore’ group in 2025. Since this personal 'discovery' and have become an active Urban Sketcher, joining and supporting local groups.
Sketching proved for me to be a great way to slow down and to reduce the overwhelming visual information into a simplified and memorable sketch.
In the last years I had the chance to start teaching workshops in Urban Sketching as well as showing my work in several solo and group exhibitions.
I am convinced that Henri Cartier-Bresson’s quote ‘Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst’ applies to both photography and sketching.
So please join me on my journey towards and beyond the 10,000 threshold!
Besides sketching I am an enthusiastic travel photographer.
